Compact single board computers
Single board computers are microprocessor based programmable circuit
boards with various I/O options. They include supporting hardware
to interface the microprocessor with other electronics. Typically
supporting hardware includes ethernet, serial ports (RS232, RS485),
digital I/O, 4-20mA inputs and outputs, USB, etc.
Using such a board can significantly reduce the product development
time. Because the production volume of these boards is high the
price is often attractive.
Microprocessor core modules
A microprocessor based printed circuit board (PCB) with flash and RAM
can reduce your time to market. These boards include a
microprocessor, flash, RAM, reset chip and a real-time clock.
A microprocessor based PCB can be plugged into custom designed electronics specifically designed for your application.
These microprocessor modules can come many libraries including a free TCP/IP stack.
